This place is beyond bad. Avoid like the plague. Took my truck in to replace the tube that goes into the gas tank, custom piece cost 500$, okay no big deal. When I picked it up I thought everything was fine it wasn't until I was leaving my house later that night that someone notice none of my rear lights were working. They forgot to reattach the plug, drove for several hours without lights, thank god I didnt get a ticket for it. #2 My landlord took her suburban in for whatever to be fixed, ended up following the suburban around allen running errands to kroger and such.

Hi Cory, I am sorry to hear you are having problems after a recent (10/23/2006) (just over 9 years 18 days ago) repair, I had to go back to 2006 to find this invoice. When you brought it back in and told us what was wrong we plugged this plug back in and apologize for the mistake. That technician was severely punished for his oversight and dismissed from employment. We do not tolerate people being human and forgetting something. As for the landlord story please have her contact me at once so I can begin looking into this claim. Taking a customers car on a personal trip is against company policy and we will deal with any employee who does this in a very strict manner. Thank you for promptly bringing this to our attention. I was looking for a trustworthy shop that will do great work with an honest price. Just the basics that any consumer would ask for, right? Well, I got a whole lot more than I bargained for. From my first phone call to Craigs Car Care, to picking up my car when I was done I was VERY impressed with their SUPERIOR Customer Service. The agent who helped me through-out is named Parrish and he was very helpful and very courteous. He kept me updated on the work that needed to be done and the price. Craig, you've won yourself a loyal customer. I've been taking my other car to the dealership since I bought it. I think I'll start bringing it to your shop from now on. Thanks!

Excellent team and service techs. I very much appreciate the vehicle review and report letting me know the current state of the vehicle and recommended actions. I was using a reputable dealer for service and once you get past the cookies/water/etc, I did not believe that I was getting a personal touch of service. At Craigs, I can tell them my concerns are and what I want done and they get it done. I still get the dealer's coupons but I will take my cars to Craigs. I recommend them for your car's service and repair requirements.

Hi Roger, Thank you for your trusting us with your Cadillac's care and service. Craig

I had a small issue to be fixed before taking an out of town trip in a few days. They quickly got me in fixed the problem and gave me information about other non-mechanical problems I was not aware of. They really treat your car as if it was their own! I have been there several times over the years (brake job on a Chevy HHR and a late model year Audi Q4, minor mechanical issues on a Ford pick up as well as a coolant issue on the chassis of my 45 foot diesel pusher motor home!!) Their work is always top notch and they take the time to explain what they find during the repair and what they did when you pick it up. I have recommend them to several friends including one who had persistent engine problems with a used Class C motor home he had purchased. They handle it all!

Hi Richard, Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to say thank you for the great review and trusting us with your cars and trucks. Craig [email protected]

Rarely fun for the pocketbook to take an older vehicle in for a repair. However, Craig's took care of me by downloading rebate forms, completing the forms including barcodes from boxes and extra receipts.. they even completed the rebate forms and addressed the envelopes... all I had to do was add stamps and drop in the mail. It doesn't get any easier than that! Also, they took care of my 99 Jeep, 154K miles, in just 2 days. It's riding pretty smooth for its advanced years and I'm glad that Craig's could save my budget from a new car payment for a bit longer :) Thanks guys!

Hi Loni, I am a little late at responding here (I am still learning the google thing) but I was still wanting to take the time to say thank you and how special reviews like yours are. We try and balance the price side but stay on side of using the best parts to keep your car running as smooth and for as long a s possible. Thanks again Craig [email protected]

I read the review on line about Craigs Car Service IN Lucas It also states they work on VWs. I've learned a good lesson from this experience. I took my 2001 Jetta to Craigs' to have the alternator replaced. I knew it was the alternator and I had replaced it 10 years ago. When I received a call from Craig's the rep told me the mechanic said he would have to drop the engine to get the alternator. That was my hint they DON'T have experience with VWs and or Jetta. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and had them replace the alternator and they did a good job after I told them I replaced the alternator myself and I did not have to drop the engine. The front of the engine is exposed when the front end bolts are removed and the front panel swings out to expose the internal parts, A/C compressor, alternator, Water pump etc. $900 and alternator was replaced. The Jetta runs. HOWEVER, the mechanic used plastic ties to secure the plastic cover which protects the bottom of the engine and fan housing. I didn't realize this until I notice it hanging from below the Jetta. I returned to Craig's and they said they removed the ties and installed with screws and clips. Hmm? The holes are predrilled hence why the clilps? Only certain VW screws will fit in the predrilled holes which hold the plastic cover to the bottom of the engine. Ok coming home and driving down my ally and proceed to my house I found my Plastic bottom engine cover in the ally! SO YOU BE THE JUDGE. THESE ARE NOT MECHANICS. PLASTIC TIES REALLY! I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR VW JETTAs. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND THEM.

Hi Michael, I have tried calling you and Martin had said you and him had spoken and we're bringing it by so we can make this right for you. The old plastic shield like so many on volkswagens (if you own one you know how low to the ground they are and are easily torn from bottoming out during normal driving.) had previous rub marks and was not being held by it's original screws any longer. The technician did attempt to help by securing what was there as good as possible. From the sound of your note here that did not hold and I sincerely apologize for all your inconvenience. . I would have liked for them to have had you come in and see the old damage before lowering the car after the alternator repairs to ask if we could replace the cover with a new one. Their thought process was to try and save you money and make the cover last but even the best intentions can fail at times and this is one of them. The Technician feels very badly and started with us in 2005 and has been a very successful, honest and well respected employee. I have revisited with the whole staff to notify any customer that comes in for a repair, but also has other previous cosmetic damage that may cause a problem later and to seek authorization from the customer to 1. Use new parts to make this repair or 2. Advise and seek authorization to make a temporary repair if it can be done safely and with a reasonable amount of expected success it will hold. I regret this took place and still am leaving an open invitation to allow us to make this right for you. I enjoyed our original conversations on the phone when you had told me about the time in the past when you had done this alternator repair yourself and how involved it was to just replace an alternator. That conversation really made my whole day. :) Thanks and again I am trully sorry this took place and appreciate your telling me. Craig
