I had them change my brake pads and they turned my rotors. They did the work on the car fine and the labor costs are fair, but they significantly mark up the cost of their parts. They get all of their parts from Napa auto and they almost double to cost. $70 retail cost for brake pads they charged me $130 for them. And if they have a deal with Napa auto parts they are probably not paying retail. I would have been better off buying all the parts myself. When asked about this they didn’t care, I think they assume people don’t look and where they are getting theirs parts and take advantage of that. I would hate to see how much they mark up the costs of other parts.
Good morning Tristan, Thank you for the feedback and that the brake work was done fine, our entire team takes great pride in providing a very high level of service. I am sorry you felt we did not care about your concerns and that is the furthest from the truth and not how want anyone to feel. Please accept my apologies for this. I will work on doing a better job of teaching the team to better understand where the clients’ money goes so, they can be better prepared to answer these types of questions. In speaking to the team, they just did not understand or know about all the back-end cost, as that is not their job to pay bill for the many costs that are associated with running the business. First and foremost, we use the absolutely best new parts available that we can source. I am so glad you asked this great question on why parts are sold for more than they cost I would like to answer this question for you. For the parts the industry does sell the parts for more than they are paid for. The cost is used to pay for the additional services our clients ask for us to provide. With sampling the industry our business model puts the parts that are sold for more than they cost the business at about the middle of the pack and we are sure that our business provides far more services and values than most others. A few things that the money from the parts sales is used for that our clients regularly ask us to do for them are: 1. The ride share service (LYFT) we provide and do not add additional chargers for. 2. A pickup and delivery service for our clients’ vehicles 3. A Shuttle service to provide our clients and their families transportation to and from the shop. 4. Our complimentary loaner vehicles for our clients to use while they are having us service their vehicles. 5.Complimentary snacks and drinks while at our service facility. 6. Our 3 year/36,000 miles parts and labor warranty. 7. The actual cost of the part I am sure I am forgetting something as I write this. I think you can agree all these things cost a significant amount of money to provide for the upfront cost of the actual service and products, plus the back-end cost of vehicle insurance, fuel, additional manpower, taxes and so on. The only other income for the business is the labor and as I am sure you already know it is used to pay the employees, their taxes that the business is responsible for, rent, all the utilities, the up keep cost for the business and yes, a profit for the business for replacing worn out equipment, health insurance and so many more things like to keep up with future cost of training and so much more. More than 78% of our clients regularly use theses and 97% our client base wants us to provide these services. Thank you again for sharing your concerns with us. We appreciate your business and look forward to being of service in the future. Craig
